Havoc in AI

The workplace will be transformed by AI… if only we agree on what AI should do!

By analyzing a lot of data, in real time, algorithm can now predict what is going to happened. What user is going to do.

Most applications and software company, therefore try to help us in this kind of predicted workflow.

Fine!

What efficiency should be searching, is almost the opposite:

Software companies and even open source communities, try to help user redo what is usually does.

They should be focusing on what NOT TO DO: which steps can be avoided.

In the vast amount of user behaviors, events log, data analysts have a new challenge for which the tools are just beginning to appear.

In an unlimited sequence of events, try to find one that is the “beginning” and one which is the “target”, the end.

In our psychological models, most of the time, we decide what the cue is, and what the reward is. Addictology made some fine progress by identifying the process and going always a step earlier in what the cue might be.

The challenge for AI is to find ways to let the algorithm identify automatically where a process starts and where it ends…

Don’t wait for companies like Google, Microsoft, IBM, Amazon, Facebook, (LibreOffice) to dictate what to do with AI. Set the goal yourself.

And that is what hope to read soon in my dear HBR.
