The Function of Success

Tenacity is not blind persistance. If clients don’t want or don’t stick with the the product you built it may be a good idea to change the direction (pivot). Or close the company and start a new one. Understanding when to stop is crucial. But the persistence to continue to build something of value and sell it is what distinguish great entrepreneurs from others. It’s no secret that most entrepreneurs we admire today were broke for a few times during their lives. It didn’t stop them from going on.

Great team with a promising market can still fail. Startups are hard. Failure is an avarage outcome in this industry. In order to succeed all the ingredients need to be in place (capable team, promising market, hard work, luck) and tenacity to proceed. Someone who chose a path of entrepreneurship should be prepared for some hardships and emotional roller coaster. Doubt will follow. Doubt about one`s capabilities, strenghts, professionalism and future perspectives. Keeping oneself going under these pressures is crucial.

The easiest way is to be curious about/like/love what you do. If it feels like playing to you and working to others it’s a good indicator that you found the right think to work on. Having a co-founder helps too. Chances are that in times when one partner feels desperate other won’t. And vice versa.
