A haiku on becoming

I am a canvas
Excitedly unfolding
Into unique art.

Each moment of each day is a new opportunity to become our best selves — to unfold and bloom into our truest selves.

Becoming is a process — an ongoing process of coming to be via the strokes we choose. How will you move about your canvas today? What will you choose to highlight? What will you bring forth? How will you unfold?

Choose wisely. Yet give yourself grace and meet yourself with compassion for art, like humanity, is imperfect too, and beautiful just the same.

As The POM Publication and its Facebook community come to a close this month, I want to thank everyone who has been part of this beautiful group and my own personal journey of becoming — through poetry.

I began writing poetry by mistake of sorts, soon after beginning to write on the platform. As soon as I started, I couldn’t stop, having found my creative calling through haiku and then trying out new styles through your challenges and gentle invitations.

I have filled my life’s metaphorical canvas with hundreds of poems released to you, and I am grateful for your hands and ears that welcomed them. Thank you for being my landing ground, and for embracing me with open arms. I am grateful, and I can only hope that I have done the same for you, for in this beautiful reciprocal sharing — synergy was born — at least for me.
